Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Mercedes-Benz E190 office chair, Mk I.
It's very, very comfortable. It's the passenger seat from this '84 Mercedes:
Future plans for the Mk II include painting or covering the plywood so it's less visible.
Thanks to Nibby for the how-to.

Cool. The junkyard that I go to uses Montana minivan seats. They are easy to convert.

If you could integrate arm rests somehow, It would be perfect.

Actually, I intentionally decided on a chair without armrests. They seem like they get in the way a lot, especially with the L-shaped desk I have.

So, what about that bass and what appears to be a mandolin?

Makes sense. I'm just a fan of office chairs with arm rests.
Also, that leather is immaculate!

The bass is a mid 80's Japanese Charvel with Jackson active PJ pickups and neck-through body construction. It was a gift from a friend of mine. It sounds great and is very easy to play. I have the action ridiculously low with no buzzing, and it sustains forever.
The mandolin is a cheap Rogue A-style that I paid nearly nothing for and bought on a whim. I had a thought of learning to play it as part of a bard costume for the local Renaissance Faire, but the mandolin is of course way too modern for that. I'll probably try to pick it up at some point, but for now it's sadly just collecting dust.

Yeah, I am really impressed with the durability of the Mercedes leather. It's still soft and supple, from a 30 year old car.

Real leather or mb tex? Impressed too if that is real leather; looks way too seamless to be real esp after 3 decades!!

I hadn't heard of MBTex before, I had to Google it.
Now I'm thinking it pretty much has to be MBTex, as I would have trouble believing leather would last this long and still look so good.

Thats awesome! I actually got the captain chairs out of a Kia Sedona minivan like a month ago to do the same thing! Now I will be attempting it to fit in!
